A successful social media campaign of Unilever



Since last one year, Unilever has been successful in social media marketing by the video campaign named 'Help a Child reach 5', aiming for lifebouy soap advertising. Today video views is over 18 millions, and a marketing officer of Unilever shared the video in Myanmar Marketing Forum 2014 also. 


Lifebouy is a germ protection soap brand, manufactured by Unilver, targeting to sell in poor countries in order to reduce dying rate of children due to diarrhoea and other diseases related to dirty hands.The man in the video walk by hand to meet local India monk in the village of Thesgora, and he cried from happy feeling because his son turned age of 5. In the village, in the past, there were only few people who grew over 5 years by defending diarrhoea. The video really touched more than 13 millioin viewers from around the world. Some even said the video teared them down.

Unilever was successful in the campaign on Facebook page 'Lifebouy'. Unilever in the forum said that purpose of the product is also very important, beside four-p, product, price, place and promotion. Because without having good positive purpose, the product would not be successful in the field.
