A social media app in Myanmar - Hush

There are not too much social media platform which serve only for Myanmar. We have Doemyanmar, Pwarr and many other. A mobile app, named Hush, is getting famous this days around. Their user volume have increased steadily from last month. Now they have over 30,000 active users.


Hush is an informal grapevine to express your thoughts, opinions or secrets. Hushes (or posts) are displayed with a location-based system. (e.g. - A user using Hush at Junction Square will see other hushes made at the same location). There are two options for the user when reading a hush - either like it by swiping right or hide it by swiping left. Nearby hushes are ephemeral. Once hidden, they will never appear on your Nearby feed again. View hot hushes to see what's popular in Global Hush community. Without any social norm constraints, it's the platform where you can shout out.

It's not a social app to make friends. It's the platform to communicate each other by status and comments. They also have localized stickers which can be used in comments. Hush is developed by the company, Nex. Nex is a local startup which got popular in local and international media. The founder, Ye Myat Min, is recognized as the youngest CEO in Myanmar.
